About me
Hello, I’m Vicky, a qualified integrative therapist, fully insured and a registered member of the BACP, offering therapy to adults, both online and in person, in Carmarthen, South West Wales.
I offer a safe and confidential space where you can talk openly about whatever feels difficult or important in your life. Counselling can be a time to pause, reflect, and make sense of your experiences with someone who will listen without judgment. Many people find that through therapy, they gain greater clarity, self-understanding, and confidence to make meaningful changes in their lives.
You might come to counselling to manage anxiety, low mood, or stress, to process grief or loss, to explore relationship challenges, or to understand yourself better. Whatever brings you, I aim to provide a warm, supportive space where you can talk freely and feel truly heard.
I qualified with a Master’s in Integrative Counselling in 2025, and I’ve been practising as a counsellor throughout my training since 2022. My experience includes working within higher education and low-cost counselling services. Before training as a therapist, I spent over 17 years supporting individuals in a variety of settings, including those experiencing homelessness, the care system, mental health challenges, domestic abuse, and relationship breakdown. These experiences have shaped my belief in people’s capacity for growth, recovery, and change when given the right support.
How I workMy approach to therapy is flexible and collaborative. I don’t believe there’s one single approach to working with everyone. As a relational integrative therapist, in ‘therapy speak’ I adopt a pluralistic approach which means I draw from a range of counselling methods, including person-centred, cognitive behavioural (CBT), mindfulness and compassion-focused therapies, whilst recognising that the therapeutic relationship is central to the work we do together. Depending on your individual needs and goals, together, we’ll explore what feels most helpful for you, at your pace. Your views are also deeply important to me. From the start and throughout therapy, I will invite your feedback and thoughts on how we work together, ensuring the sessions are meeting your needs and preferences.
I offer short, medium, or long term counselling, with sessions available weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs. I usually hold sessions at the same time each week, but I understand this isn’t always possible for everyone, for example, those working shifts or with caring responsibilities. I take a flexible approach to scheduling and will work with you to find what fits best.
